Tom Boyd Runs His First Charity Half Marathon
Scottish football legend Tom Boyd launched this year’s ‘diet Coke’ East Kilbride Half Marathon and 10k fun run today (Thursday 13 March).
The launch took place at East Kilbride’s John Wright Sports Centre. Tom took the opportunity to sign up to the popular race and pledged to raise money for St Andrew’s Hospice. This will be the former Scotland International and Celtic captain’s first half marathon.
Around 2000 runners will join Tom at the town’s John Wright Sports Centre on the 22nd June. As this year’s nominated charity, St Andrew’s Hospice will receive £1 of every entry fee. For more information on taking part see www.ekhalfmarathon.co.uk. [Full Story]
Welcome to the new look site for 2008
Over the past 8 years more than 11,500 runners have participated in the ½ Marathon & 10k Fun Run, running a combined total of over 121,000 miles! The 9th race will be held on Sunday 22nd June and you can enter NOW.
The ChampionChip Timing will be used again this year and this will record your own net time. As you cross the line your time starts and stops when you reach the finish.
The race entry closing date is June 12th 2007 at 5pm and any entries received after this date will not be processed. Please note that after May 30th all race entry prices will increase by £4.00. [Full Story]
